A more than amazing story
Jeffrey's personal story is one of the most interesting I've ever heard. And in this interview done with Lisa Garr of "Coast to Coast' radio, they covered so many subjects I've been researching and reading more for days.
Perhaps the most fascinating, although maybe not the most valuable of the things I learned during this interview is the story of Ted Owens, the man, whose life and amazing feats Jeffrey wrote about in his book "PK Man".
He described Ted as a man with a very unusual personality that caused most people to dismiss all he ever said. However, Jeffrey got to really know that man, even took his learning course and stayed in close touch with him until he died.
Seems that all 'movements' in this world take time, like the Women's Movement, the Hippies, who people dismissed as unworthy of paying real attention to, etc. Yet today, the women's movement has made headway and the whole world is talking green, organic, sustainable living, etc.
So I can personally forsee when people stop mocking 'new age' theories and all to do with parapsychology, and more.
How long will it take? Who knows?
I do know that I have learned not to scoff at any new ideas and theories, but to at least recognize that new things are simply 'yet unproven'....while not being impossible.
Jeffrey's TV show "Thinking Allowed" was on for fiteen years on our local PBS station and several other channels. A very good show that attracted a really large audience. Stretching the mind is good for the soul...as well as for improving one's overall health and wellbeing.
I wanted to bring this interview here as it's one of the most thought provoking interviews I've heard in a while and was such an entertaining joy to listen to on top of that.
One of the greatest joys in my life has been the ability, since leaving public school, to seek out knowledge and teachers on subjects I never learned much about in my schoolyears and to share all I find with my children, grandchildren and friends, both off and online.
Will look forward to hearing your views,
DJ

An Alternative University
About this man, this video and the University he helped to create:
"Jeffrey Mishlove's career has been guided by dreams, synchronicities, mystical states and their philosophical implications. He has consistently encouraged others to pay attention to these processes in their own lives. Jeffrey has the distinction of holding a doctoral diploma in Parapsychology, which is the only such diploma ever awarded by an accredited, American University. He is also past president of the California Society for Psychical Study and past vice-president of the Association for Humanistic Psychology.
Jeffrey has also helped to create a new institution of higher education called "The University of Philosophical Research" that has recently been approved by the State of California to offer a distant learning masters degree in Consciousness Studies. He serves as the dean of programs for this college, and also teaches the course in parapsychology.
Mishlove is heading a new social movement for Psychic Liberation. "The time has come to begin to look at ignorance, fear and discrimination with regards to our psychic abilities," he declared.
Mishlove went on to explain that all people have psychic potential. "Everybody should feel encouraged to cultivate their own inner intuitive abilities," he said.
Further, all people have the power to heal through what he calls Distant Mental Influence. Mishlove concluded, "If people all knew that they had the power to send positive thoughts to other people, to heal each other and to heal our planet, we could begin to really make a difference."
